Responsibilities
- Conduct research, gather data, and analyze information to support programmatic initiatives and policy development.
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects and programs related to child health, education, nutrition, protection, and other relevant areas.
- Contribute to the development and dissemination of communication materials, including reports, presentations, and advocacy documents.
- Support knowledge management efforts by organizing and maintaining relevant databases, resources, and documentation.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and field visits to gain firsthand experience of UNICEF's work and interact with partners and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with team members to provide administrative and logistical support, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Contribute to the drafting and editing of project proposals, concept notes, and funding applications.
- Stay updated on global development issues, policies, and practices related to child rights and UNICEF's focus areas.
- Adhere to UNICEF's ethical and professional standards, including confidentiality and respect for diversity.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the team's goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant undergraduate or graduate degree program (e.g., international development, social sciences, public health, education, communications, etc.).
- Genuine interest in child rights, international development, and humanitarian work.
- Strong analytical and research skills to gather, analyze, and present information effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in using relevant computer software and tools, including MS Office.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse team environment, demonstrating adaptability and cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated commitment to UNICEF's core values and mission.
- Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of other UN languages (such as French, Spanish, Arabic) is an asset.
