Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and analysis on policy issues, assisting in the development of position papers, policy proposals, and speeches.
  • Support party officials and politicians in their day-to-day activities, including attending meetings, drafting correspondence, and coordinating events.
  • Assist with constituency work, engaging with constituents, and addressing their concerns.
  • Monitor and analyze political developments, both nationally and locally, providing updates and briefings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support election campaigns by participating in campaign activities, such as voter outreach, canvassing, and organizing events.
  • Contribute to social media and communication efforts, including content creation, monitoring online discussions, and responding to inquiries.
  • Collaborate with party officials and colleagues to develop and implement community engagement initiatives and programs.
  • Attend relevant training sessions, workshops, and seminars to enhance knowledge of political processes, public policy, and campaigning strategies.
  • Participate in team meetings, discussions, and strategic planning sessions to contribute ideas and insights.
  • Adhere to the values, principles, and ethical standards of the Democratic Alliance.
Qualifications
  • Strong interest in politics, public policy, and South African governance.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant degree program (e.g., political science, public administration, international relations, law, etc.).
  • Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced political landscape.
